Welcome to another year of RTO in Lambton County. The 2007/2008 year is off to a busy start. At the May 31st AGM in Wyoming we: installed our new
executive, enjoyed a wonderful social committee event, and donated $450 in
contributions to Habitat for Humanity after our guest speaker Lynda Jenkins made her presentation to the group.

Our new executive includes my role as president which moves Rosanne Orcutt to the office of Past President. Alan Campbell is the first vice president. Bob McCarthy will take over the Pension and Retirement Concerns Committee. An executive contact list is scheduled to be included in the Chit Chat. Committee members on the executive are also posted on the internet site. New members are always welcome and needed. Please consider joining our group soon.

Many members of our district have enjoyed the enhanced travel opportunities
provided by Sandra Marshall, Val Smith, and Irena Bondarczuk. The last scheduled event of this committee is to the ‘One of a Kind’ show. Our thanks, for a job well done, goes out to this retiring committee. New travel enthusiasts are
encouraged to come out and share their talents.

Our summer BBQ at the Sarnia Yacht Club was attended by 59 persons. The weather cooperated and we enjoyed a lovely evening meal and sunset. Carolyn Minielly and the Social Committee provided an event to remember.

Al Davidson is to be congratulated for running a very well received ‘No Bells’ Breakfast on September 4th. Al has also reached his first membership goal in
surpassing the 1000 local members mark. Congratulations!

Our members are asked to check our committee lists of events contained in this publication and to plan on attending as many as may interest you.

In closing I would like to include a little advice that George Carlin gives on, “How to Stay Young”. He believes that one should throw out non essential numbers.
This includes age, weight, and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why we pay ‘them’.
